What does AAMA mean and what is its purpose?  TOP

AAMA stands for American Architectural Manufactures Association. AAMA measures not only the thermal durability, but also tests for air and water leakage and structure. For a window to become AAMA GOLD Certified, it must pass 3 tests. Visit the AAMA for more information.

Do PlyGem Windows meet NFRC specifications?  TOP

Yes, PlyGem tests all its windows to NFRC specifications. Summary results are available for your review at www.NFRC.com.

Why are PlyGem Windows the best for Milwaukee replacement windows?  TOP

All of PlyGem Windows are validated by a 3rd party. These parties are AAMA, NFRC and Energy Star. AAMA measures the durability of the window, air, water leakage and structure. Because PlyGem windows are continually tested every 6 months, they have been awarded with the GOLD Label of AAMA. The second test conducted is through NFRC, which tests the overall thermal durability of the window. NFRC also measures the rate of heat loss or how well a product prevents heat from escaping. The lower the number, the greater a products resistance to heat flow and better insulating value. Finally, all PlyGem Windows are Energy Star rated. Better Products, Better Service, Better Window. The Best of the Best!

  What does fenestration mean?  TOP

Fenestration is a product that fills an opening in a building envelope designed to permit the passage of air, light, vehicles or people.

Are you a partner with Energy Star?  TOP

Yes, we are proud to be an Energy Star partner. Learn more at www.energystar.gov.

What is an air infiltration rate?  TOP

The air infiltration rate is a measurement of the amount of air that can pass through a window. Air infiltration rates are set by certifying organizations and are verified by independent tests and reflect the amount of air that passes through a closed window. The lower the air infiltration rate, the less drafts in your home and lower fuel costs.

How do Wisconsin Weatherall Windows compare to the national brands?  TOP

Our windows are priced to be affordable for all consumers. Our prices are more attractive because we do not have the overhead the national companies have. We offer the top of the line windows with all the amenities without the extravagant price of the nation companies. We offer many styles and options to fit all households.

What is the difference between Gold and Silver labels of AAMA?  TOP

Just like the Olympics, GOLD is better than silver. A lot of Waukesha window companies apply a similar gold-colored label to their windows, but PlyGem Windows have earned the official GOLD Label of AAMA.

What is the difference between vinyl, wood and aluminum windows?  TOP

First and foremost, vinyl windows are maintenance free and never need painting or staining. PlyGem vinyl windows are strong and durable, do not expand and contract like wood windows, and do not conduct like aluminum windows. With the change in climate we have in Wisconsin, windows that shrink, swell or conduct from hot to cold cause major heating and cooling loss. PlyGem Windows filled with foam are actually warm to the touch because they do not conduct heat or cold like aluminum windows. Vinyl never loses it shape and because of its insulating properties PlyGem Vinyl Windows will save you money on your heating and cooling costs. PlyGem vinyl windows are lead-free and made from virgin PVC Vinyl. PlyGem superior quality stands up in all 4 seasons.

  What is Low E?  TOP

Low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings are microscopically thin, virtually invisible, metallic oxide layers deposited on a window surface primarily to reduce the U-Factor by suppressing radiative heat, thus lowering the total heat flow through the window. Different types of Low-E coatings have been designed to allow for high solar gain, moderate solar gain and low solar gain.

Are your windows fusion-welded and why is that important?  TOP

Yes, all PlyGem Windows are fusion-welded on both the frame and the sashes. This enables the windows to be structurally strong and aesthetically pleasing.

Do you have a referral program?  TOP

Yes, we are happy to offer up to a $150.00 gift card for every referral you send our way with a signed contract. It's very simply, just tell your friends and family. Please contact LuAnn Beebe at 262-968-9550 or www.wisconsinweatherall.com for details. Wisconsin Weatherall serves all of Milwaukee and Waukesha WI. We offer the Best Windows. Best Installation. Best Period!

What kind of warranty does PlyGem provide?  TOP

PlyGem warrants that its vinyl windows will be free from manufacturing or material defects for so long as such products remain in use at the home where originally installed and the original purchaser (or authorized transferee) owns and resides in such home. This warranty is transferable one time by the original purchaser upon notice and payment of a transfer fee.

I prefer maintenance free windows like PlyGem windows, but I would like a wood grain look for the inside of my home. Can I purchase wood grain look and will it still be maintenance free?  TOP

Yes, you can. PlyGem Windows offers interior wood grain in three available colors; Natural Oak, Golden Oak and Colonial Cherry. And of course, the window is still maintenance free.

What colors are PlyGem windows available in?  TOP

PlyGem Windows offers many interior and exterior colors including wood grains.

How long will it take to install my Milwaukee replacement windows?  TOP

Most installations take between one to two days.

What is weather-stripping and how does it effect my window?  TOP

Other window companies allow air infiltraltion that creates drafts and raises energy costs. PlyGem Premium Series windows feature heavy-duty weatherstripping to provide a barrier to air and water. In independent air infiltration studies, GrandView Windows rate significantly better than other window brands. That means you save energy dollars!

What makes PlyGem Premium Series meetings rails design better than others?  TOP

Other window companies use steel or aluminum reinforcement which can transfer heat. Our double-hung and slider windows feature internal structural fiberglass extrusions for reinforcement to provide unsurpassed strength and durability without conduction.
